My 4-year-old son loves animals, so he was naturally very enthusiastic about the motifs of this puzzle. He could also recognize some of the letters already such as the first letter of his name, and could make the connection between that letter in his name and the corresponding animal on the letter. After two rounds of puzzling, he was already trying out the vertical variation and really enjoyed the challenge.
